Ajay is a UAS and rotorcraft subject matter expert with extensive experience of delivering commercial, Defence and
R&D programmes. Ajay led the development of the UK UTM framework for drones between 2018 and 2020. He has
worked on multiple drone programmes including Facebook’s Aquila solar UAV (2016) and QinetiQ’s Zephyr 6 solar
UAV which set the record for the longest-duration unmanned flight. Ajay was the Principal structural integrity
engineer for the UK Chinook CH47F and Agusta-Westland AW-159 Wildcat helicopter acquisition programmes. He is
an active Member of ASTM, the Royal Aeronautical Society and the Vertical Flight Society. Ajay has a PhD in
Rotorcraft design and a Master of Engineering in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Southampton, UK.
