What are the best ways to provide a fair and efficient access to high-value airspace over cities? If the concept of airspace as a common good is not disputed, airspace density management requires explicit rules and mechanisms. This might come in the form of a “first-come first-serve” concept, of operation-centric rules, or as an auction system. Those scenarios will have a huge impact on public acceptance and business models for drone operators, UTM service providers, and municipalities.
