Gianpaolo Cecchin works for the Federal Office of Civil Aviation in Switzerland in safety risks oversight in air traffic management and air navigation services and on the development of oversight methodologies to improve the tradeoff between compliance, human and efficiency needs in achieving safety.
Having spent the majority of his career as a general manager in the mobile internet service industry, establishing himself as a respected customer experience designer and a creative business innovator, he knows what it needs in order to achieve targets when facing dynamic, complex and unforeseeable situations. His secret keys are the capability to afford the next challenge with curiosity combined with an avant-gardist spirit to focus his mind’s eye towards the success.
He holds a MS degree in engineering, an executive MBA and the High Performance Leadership-training program from the IMD business school. He is an experienced facilitator in Design Thinking, Human Centric Design and Innovation management, from IDEO and Stanford University, both known for their academic strength and proximity to Silicon Valley.
The adaptation and proper application of business management and creativity tools, formerly used in a highly competitive and volatile market driven by cash flows, into a regulated industry driven by safety, allow affording questions under different perspectives. He promotes these methods aiming at harmonizing the approaches within the European Authorities in his chairperson role of the FABEC Oversight of Changes Task Force, where he is known for his collaborative and positive thinking approaches.
Outside of the office, he is a committed coach in personal performance development through Neuro-Linguistic Programming strategies and enjoys horse riding.
