Today GUTMA welcomes the adoption of the U-Space Regulation by the European Commission.

The U-Space Regulation paves the way towards the widespread use of drones. Drones must be able to fly in an automated way over longer distances to reduce costs and make drone services more attractive. U-Space keeps such automated operations safe and secure.

The rules, which will become law in January 2023, will open further the European drone services market.

You can find more information about today’s announcement on the European Commission’s website here.

GUTMA supports the Commission and EASA, the European Aviation Safety Agency, in their endeavours to implement these European rules.
